Patchogue Chamber of Commerce Seeks New Executive Director as David Kennedy Transitions to Village Role
In a significant development for the Village of Patchogue, Dennis Smith, the long-serving Executive Director of the Patchogue Business Improvement District (BID), has announced his retirement this coming fall. With over two decades of dedicated service, Dennis Smith’s departure marks the end of an era for the village. Additionally, Dennis will be resigning from his role as Special Projects Director for the Village of Patchogue, making this a double transition for the community.
Leadership Transition
To ensure a smooth transition, Dennis Smith, along with Village of Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri, recommended David Kennedy, the current Executive Director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, to fill both vacated roles. David Kennedy has accepted the opportunity and will officially assume his new responsibilities on or about October 1, 2024.
David Kennedy is committed to maintaining the high standards set by Dennis Smith. He has pledged to offer the same level of support and guidance to the new Chamber Executive Director as Dennis provided to him during his tenure. This approach is expected to facilitate a seamless transition and continued progress for the Village of Patchogue.
